We had another group life class today. That is the second one in the recent weeks. Looks like we have an ongoing group for a while. Great for exercising the head to hand skills, the looking and the seeing. Playing around with marks and letting it happen. Skills should develop with consistent and regular sittings.
Taking a different approach. Finding the edge from less considered marks. Moving and correcting edges as I go.
The beginnings of a drawing. An exercise in finding proportion within an imagined box. Put more simply, starting with a top and bottom line and then a left and right edge to make a rectangle for the figure to fit inside.
We are trying our hand at figure sketching this week. I joined in and produced this drawing of Kate reading. You have to keep checking, plumbing lines to be in control of the drawing. I should be doing this stuff more often (drawing). Treat it like an athlete would in training.
Not even the dramatic finale to Star Trek could keep Jackie awake.
Here is my contribution.
A Quentin Blake inspired/rip-off poster when I was a young graphic design student!
