Portrait for a Londoner

Alex Picture

The Londoner being one of my brothers who is making me work on New Years Day!

Having said that, it’s great to finish a painting on the first day of the year, a good sign for the twelve months ahead.

This is painted with Georges Seurat in mind. The small, tippy-tappy, strokes building up to form an optical smoothness of a child’s skin.

I only had a tiny jpeg of the face, so my hand was forced into a style a step or two away from realist.

Happy New Year everyone!
