Beresford Exhibition

I have been invited to show with four other Courtyard Studios artists for an exhibition at the Beresford in Ayr. Being a portrait painter, essentially, I find the gallery experience tricky. I haven’t yet developed a pictorial language that goes beyond the likeness of  a person. Therefore I struggle to have paintings that I can imagine customers buying for themselves as works of art. But, the offer is there to showcase the work as it is and I am glad of that opportunity.

I have four paintings included and three of those are being framed as I write. I’ll make the final choice last minute on wednesday.

  1. I know a few portrait painters who find the gallery experience useful for getting commissions, so good luck 🙂

  2. Thanks Rosie, looking forward to it.

  3. Sure wish I could attend! Congratulations and may it be fruitful in every way you can hope for it to be!
